Protokol Lab/Use cases/ADHD & natural focus
For ADHD users — diagnosed, late-diagnosed, or considering

A baseline that holds. With or without the prescription.

I'm ADHD. I've used multiple medications. What I wanted to know — and couldn't find anywhere — was how much of my function was me and how much was the prescription. The lab models your natural-baseline stack alongside your medication, with your prescriber in the loop. It will not recommend skipping doses. It will show you the gap honestly so you can decide what to do about it.

01 / What keeps you up

The questions on the inside of your head — that aren't getting answered anywhere.

I built each of these models because I had the question and couldn't find an honest answer. Not from the prescriber. Not from the subreddit. Not from the AI summary that just regurgitated the prescriber.

01

You can't feel your medication anymore.

D2 down-regulation. The lab shows the curve, models a structured tolerance break with bridge supplements, and surfaces the talk-to-your-prescriber card. It will never recommend skipping a dose. It recommends the conversation.

02

You're afraid to taper because you don't know what's real.

The lab models a parallel scenario — your medicated day vs your protocol-supported day — so you can see the gap honestly. You decide. Your prescriber decides. The lab just removes the guessing.

03

The crashes hit at the same time every day.

3 PM dopamine cliff. Render it against your caffeine timing, your last protein feeding, and your sleep debt — and find the smallest change that closes it.

04

You want to take this seriously and have nothing structured to follow.

The lab gives you a 12-week scaffold — light, protein, training, sleep, magnesium L-threonate, omega-3, tyrosine — calibrated to your sleep type and your medication schedule.

02 / A real protocol

What the lab outputs for someone like you.

One real scenario someone built in the closed beta. Not a recommendation. A worked example — to show you the shape of what you'd be designing for yourself.

03 / Bloodwork that matters

The tests that move this protocol — and why.

Not every marker on a Function Health panel matters for what you're doing. These are the ones that do, with the reason next to each.

Ferritin
Quest · LabCorp
< 50 ng/mL impairs dopamine synthesis. Often missed.
Vit D · Mg RBC · zinc
Quest · Function
All cofactors. All commonly low in ADHD.
Free T3 / TSH
Quest · LabCorp
Subclinical thyroid mimics ADHD inattention.
Homocysteine + B12
Quest · LabCorp
Methylation matters for catecholamine synthesis.
Cortisol AM/PM
DUTCH · Quest
Two-point. Flat curve = afternoon crashes.
HbA1c + fasting glucose
Quest · LabCorp
Glycemic dips destabilize attention faster than caffeine.
04 / Harm reduction

When the lab will refuse to model.

The harm engine is hard-coded, not statistical. MAOIs + SSRIs, methylene blue + serotonergics, contraindicated peptide stacks, dosing into a known drug-interaction window — the lab refuses to render the prediction and surfaces peer-reviewed warnings instead.

It will also flag when you're outside the population the literature was sampled from — pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or stacking peptides or supplements the model has low confidence in. You always know what the model knows and what it's guessing.

05 / With your provider

A protocol your prescriber will read.

Every protocol you save can be exported as a clean PDF: mechanisms cited, doses listed, comparator scenario attached, predicted markers tracked. The point isn't to replace your prescriber. The point is to walk into a 12-minute appointment with a structured artifact instead of a story.

This is not medical advice. By design. It is education that makes you a more informed person sitting across from someone who can give it.
